To all my brown babes out there I am here for you. Growing up I consistently witnessed racist slurs thrown at not only me but my friends as well. I was not only bullied for the way I identified but also for the color of my skin. I was called a spic , nigger , porch monkey etc.. I was ashamed of my ethnicity and this feeling and harassment lasted all the way up to my sophomore year of highschool. I can recall vividly two people I considered friends making stereotypical jokes about Mexicans and me not knowing what to say. I stood their with no backbone and tears in my eyes . After finally changing my surroundings and standing up for myself I learned that my beauty is meaningful and that I should not be ashamed of who I am. Today I stand a brown babe with the opportunity to work with @babe.wear a body positive company help uplift others.
